Question: AFS patch 3.6-2.18

Hi, I am testing a solaris 8 fileserver running AFS patch 3.6-2.18.
I have only moved one volume onto it so far because I observed that 
when the system is rebooted I no longer see the 

   ----IBM AFS (R) 3.6 fsck----
   
messages.  If I crash and boot the system it does salvage properly, but 
it does not appear to fsck first.  I am working on this issue with IBM.
