[info-afs] Missing afsd demon in openafs-1.4.0rc4/fedora-4

Dear OpenAFS gurus,

I have downloaded from /openafs/openafs-1.4.0rc4/fedora-4/SRPMS in
grandcentral.org the source openafs-1.4.0rc4-fc4.1.src.rpm and the
corresponding openafs.spec file. Having installed the
openafs-kernel-1.4.0rc4-2.6.11_1.1369_FC4_1.i686.rpm
from /openafs/openafs-1.4.0rc4/fedora-4/RPMS/i686 the rpmbuild process
worked fine and I have now a working OpenAFS on my laptop under Linux
2.6.11-1.1369_FC4.

But if I try to do the same install on my desktop computer which is
under 2.6.12-1.1447_FC4smp, I can build the rpm packages, I can install
them, but there is no running afsd demon and even no afsd at all.

And if I try to use
openafs-kernel-smp-1.4.0rc4-2.6.12_1.1447_FC4smp_1.i686.rpm I get a
message : kernel-smp package required. But the command rpm -q kernel-smp
yields :
kernel-smp-2.6.12-1.1447_FC4

So I am puzzled and I would be pleased to receive any hint...
