About CellServDB-announce

This mailing list receives announcements about changes to the public CellServDB file maintained at GRAND.CENTRAL.ORG. The CellServDB contains information about the AFS database servers for each public AFS cell; it is AFS's equivalent of a DNS or directory server. Anyone may subscribe to this list to receive information about new, changed, and deleted entries in the global CellServDB. To submit a change for your cell, send mail to <cellservdb@grand.central.org>. To see the collection of prior postings to the list, visit the CellServDB-announce Archives.

Using CellServDB-announce

To post a message to all the list members, send email to cellservdb-announce@grand.central.org. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.

Subscribing to CellServDB-announce

Subscribe to CellServDB-announce by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a hidden list, which means that the members list is available only to the list administrator. Your email address:   You must enter a privacy password. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext.
