About info-afs

The info-afs mailing list, formerly hosted by IBM Transarc Labs, is for general discussion, information, questions, etc. of all types related to the AFS distributed filesystem. Discussion related to any AFS implementations is welcome here. This is an open list -- anyone can subscribe, and any subscriber can post. To limit spam, only current subscribers can post without moderator approval. If you are subscribed using a different address than the one that normally appears on your outgoing mail, or if you read this list via a shared subscription, you will need to enable posting for the address that appears on your outgoing mail. To do this, subscribe the outgoing address to the list, and then set the 'nomail' flag. You will now be able to post from that address, but it will not receive a copy of the mail. Please note that if you were subscribed to info-afs@transarc.com or its IBM-based successors, you will _not_ be automatically subscribed here. To post a message to all the list members, send email to info-afs@grand.central.org. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.

Subscribing to info-afs

Subscribe to info-afs by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a hidden list, which means that the members list is available only to the list administrator. Your email address:   You must enter a privacy password. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext.
